Assam Engineering College (AEC) is a premier engineering institute of India. It is located in Guwahati. It conducts research and training activities in Engineering Sciences. The Institute offers a 4-year B. E. program to which admission is made through a Common Entrance Examination conducted on State level. Admissions are also made to the 18 months M. E. program in Watershed Management & Flood Control and Soil Mechanics of Civil Engineering. Ph.D. is offered in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Soil Mechanics and Hydraulics of Civil Engineering. The Institute also offers 3-year Master of Computer Applications ( M.C.A.) program.
