Sindhu Mahavidyalaya, Napur is a Science college started on 1st July 1971. It runs Junior college, Degree college in Science & Commerce faculties. Affiliated to Nagpur University, Nagpur. Centre for Biotechnology was set up in the college. The Institute offers M.Sc. Biotechnology and B.Sc. Biotechnology, a three Year Degree Course with Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Biotechnology combination. The SMV Centre for Biotechnology has spacious laboratories for Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biophysics and Air conditioned laboratories for Molecular Biology, Plant tissue culture and Animal cell culture. Adequate equipment is available for imparting practical training in various fields of biotechnology.
