National Institute of Hydrology (NIH) is a premier institute of India. It is located in Roorkee. It conducts research and training activities in almost all areas of hydrology. Institute's research areas are - Real Time Flood Forecasting, Urban Hydrology, GIS and Remote Sensing Applications in Hydrology, Water Quality Modelling, Climate Change Impact Assessment Studies, Drought Indices, Unsaturated Flow Modelling, Groundwater Flow Modelling and Drainage of Agricultural Land.
