Institute undertakes application-oriented research in all aspects of structural engineering – both design and construction, including rehabilitation of structures. R & D thrust areas are - Structural Concrete Engineering & Technology, Sustainable Materials and Composites & Retrofitting / Rehabilitation of Structures, Computational Structural Mechanics for Analysis and Design & Software Development, Transmission Towers, Metal Structure Behaviour, Fatigue and Fracture, Structural Health Monitoring and Evaluation & Forensic Analysis, Wind Engineering and Earthquake Engineering.
