The
BCE has been recognised by All India Council for Technical Education
(AICTE) New Delhi and approved by the Government
of Karnataka. It is affiliated
to the Visweswarayya Technological University, Belgaum.
The institute has been confirmed
a Jain Religious Minority Status. It
is an unaided institution.
Location
The
college nestling cozily at the foothill of the world famous
Gommata Giri on which sands the 58 feet tall statue of
Bhagawan Bahubali at Sharavanabelagola in Hassan Dist. It is
146 Kms from Bangalore on National Highway (NH48).
CAMPUS
The
college has a sprawling campus of
over 18 hectares on which stand
spacious
well-designed building. The lecture halls are well equipped,
airy and spacious. The college
boasts of excellent laboratories and workshop
facilities backed by a well stocked library.
The Computer Laboratory of the institute has the latest Pentium
Computers, with plans to
introduce e-mail and Internet shortly.The college intends to
have BCE WEB CLUB to enable
its staff & students to acquire
latest knowledge in technical studies through Internet.

Qualification
for admission
Admissions
will be given to candidates who have successfully completed
the Pre-University Examination or its equivalent with minimum
of 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; B.Sc
graduates in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; Diploma holders
in Engineering subjects as determined by the Government of Karnataka
and AICTE recommended equivalent courses.
The
Admission are through Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by
the Pre-University Board of Karnataka. The BCE being a minority
institution, the management can admit 50% of the candidates
in each discipline at its discretion, subject to eligibility
criteria being fulfilled. Under Free and Payment Quotas for
Jain candidates both from Karnataka and other states. Such candidates
need not take CET examination. Information regarding the date,
time, place etc., of the CET will be announced by the Pre-University
Board before the commencement of each academic year.
LIBRARY
The
BCE has an ever growing library covering books both for academic,
reference purposes. Besides these, the library has subscribed
to various News papers and periodicals and Technical journals.
Future
Plans
The College intends to have its own independent block in each
subject with research centre, auditorium, canteen, additional
blocks for Hostels, Staff Quarters etc., in the near future
and to make it a self-sufficient campus of international repute.
Hostel
& Mess
The
BCE has provided separate well furnished hostels for boys and
girls. Each hostel has a mess which provides good vegetarian
food. The boarding charges will be divided between the inmates.
Hostel accommodation will be provided on first-cum-first basis.
Fees, deposits, mess charges for the hostel are separately collected
and are not refundable.
