Eligibility
MBA Bachelor’s degree with 50% aggregate marks/honours graduates. Final
year candidates are required not to pursue any other course or accept
employment during the period of study. MBA (PT) Inservice graduates
with 45% marks or graduates with CA/CS/ICWA and 2 yrs experience.
Application
Procedure Application form and prospectus can be obtained from the
office of the Secretary, University Classes, Guwahati University, Guwahati
781014 on cash payment of Rs. 20 or on requisition by post with self-addressed
stamped envelope and bank draft of Rs. 20 drawn in favour of Guwahati
University. Completed applications with entrance test fee of Rs. 100
should reach the Department by the notified date.
Selection
Written test (at the campus) meant to evaluate candidate’s quantitative
aptitude, business reasoning, general awareness and proficiency in English.
Shortlisted candidates are called for group discussion and interview.

JOINT
ADMISSION TEST (JAT) is
conducted by the Director of Technical Education. Assam for admission
to BE/B Arch degree courses in Assam Engineering College, Guwahati: Jorhat
Engineering College, Jorhat; Regional Engineering College, Silchar (Assam
quota); and for reserved seats (allotted by Govt. Of India) for Engineering
& Technological Degree courses outside Assam. (Such candidates have
also to apply separately to the Director of Technical Education, Guwahati
781019, as and when advertised).
Exemption
from ‘JAT’
(i) Nominated candidates against reserved seats; (ii) Foreign
students; (iii) Candidates ranked within the first ten positions in the
Higher Secondary (Science) exam of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council
provided they get 75% aggregate marks.

Admission
is open to permanent residents of Assam except Government of
India/State nominees; Sons and daughters of Central Govt./Public Sector
Undertakings employees posted in Assam and serving in the State for
one year ( 7 seats).

Eligibility
Maximum Age.21 yr. (22/24) yr. For B.Sc. degree holders/SC
and ST candidates).
Academic
qualification 12 yr. Hr Sec exam of Assam Higher Secondary
Education Council or equivalent with Phy. Chem., Maths and English securing
50% aggergate marks in PCM in one sitting (45% for SC and 40% for ST
candidates). Candidates should be physically and mentally fit.
Application
Procedure Application form and prospectus can be obtained from
the Engineering Colleges/Polytechnics as may be notified on payment
of Rs 30 in cash or through Bank Draft payable to the Principle of the
College along with a self- addressed stamped (Rs 4) envelope of 28x12
cm size. Completed application along with the Centre fee of Rs 100 through
cash/Bank Draft should be submitted to any Engineering College according
to cantre of choice under Guwahati/Jorhat/Silchar zones.
Selection
On the basis of merit in ‘JAT’ conducted at 18 centres in the
State. The test consists of 100 marks of each paper in Maths, Phy. and
Chem. each of 3 hours duration. Separate merit list for SC/ST candidates
is prepared. Candidates for BArch course are also required to appear
in Aptitude test.
Choice
of Branch of Study/College Candidates are required to indicated
in the application their preference of branch of study/college; allotment
is however based on merit. Change is not allowed after admission. Merit
list is notified by the Director of Technical Education, Assam through
Aptitude test.

Exam in ASSAM
COMMON
ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (CEE) is conducted by Gauhati University for
admission to first year MBBS/BDS courses in 3 medical and 1 dental colleges
affiliated to the Universities of Assam, Dibrugarh and Gauhati. Exemption
from CEE (a) States/Central Government nominees; (b) Candidates ranked
within the first ten position in the qualifying exam of Assam Higher
Secondary Education Council securing at least 75% aggregate marks in
Phy, Chem and Biol. (Such candidates are required to apply direct for
admission to the Director of Medical Education, Assam).

Admission
is open to Indian nationals and native/permanent residents of Assam.
Exception Children of the employees of the State Government posted
outside Assam including Officers allotted to Govt of Assam from the
all India Services.

Eligibility Age 17-24 yrs (17-27 yrs for SC/ST) on December
31 of the year of admission Academic Qualification 12 yrs Hr Sec Science
exam securing 50% (40% for SC/ST/OBC) aggregate marks in Phy, Chem
Biol and English in the same sitting. Candidates should be medically
fit.
Application
Procedure Application form together with admission rules can be
obtained from any of the medical/dental colleges on payment of Rs.
50 through bank draft payable to Director of Medical Education, Assam,
Gauhati. Completed applications alongwith test fee of Rs. 300 should
reach the college or as notified by the prescribed date.
Selection
Merit in the Common Entrance Examination held at Silchar, Gauhati
and Dibrugarh centres in the State. The test consists of 3 papers
in Phy, Chem and Biol of the standard of the Hr Sec exam. The medium
of the exam is the same as adopted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education
Council. List of Selected Candidates is notified in colleges/local
dailies.
Bond
Selected candidates have to execute a bond to serve the State Government
for 5 yrs after completion of the course, failing which they have
to pay a sum of Rs 5,35,000.
