HOTEL
MANAGEMENT EXAM
The
National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology,
New Delhi, holds every year in the month of April a
competitive examination for admission to the 1-st year
of the 3-year Diploma Course for the Institutes at Ahmedabad,
Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Calcutta, Chandigarh,
Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Gurdaspur, Gwalior, Hyderabad.
Jaipur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Shimla, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram.
Essential
Qualifications:
The candidate should have passed the plus 2-stage examination
of 10 + 2 system or an equivalent examination in any
stream with English as a compulsory subject.
Age Limits:
Upper age 22 years on the 1st July of the year of exam.
Age relaxable upto 25 years for candidates belonging
to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes.
Application Procedure:
The eligible candidates may complete the application
as per format given in the Employment News (generally
in December of last year) and in the manner prescribed
furnishing details in BOLD CAPITAL LETTERS
The last date for submission of applications is generally
the 3rd week of February.
Selection Procedure:
Eligible candidates will be called to appear at a written
test, which will be Objective Type and consist of:
· Reasoning and Logical Deductions.
· Numerical Ability and Scientific Aptitude.
· English Language.
· General Knowledge.
On the basis of performance in the written test, candidates
will be called for interview at Delhi, Calcutta, Mumbai,
Chandigarh, Chennai and Lucknow. The final selection
will be made on the basis of performance in the written
test, interview and weight age for participation in
sports and successful completion of craft course.
Examination Fee:
Rs. 400 (Rs. 120 in the case of SC/ST candidates) in
the form of Account Payee Demand Draft preferably from
any branch of Syndicate Bank.
