A
Common Admission Test (CAT) is held every year
generally in the month of December for admission to
the Post-Graduate Programme (PGP) of the Master of
Business Administration (M.B.A.) at Indian Institute
of Management (IIM) of Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta,
Indore, Kozikode and Lucknow.
The particulars of the examination are generally published
in the Employment News in the month of August. Bulletin,
containing details of the programmes, CAT and Programme,
Application Forms can be obtained from the main Branches
of State Bank of India on payment of requisite amount.
The last date for submission of applications is usually
2nd week of October.
Eligibility
Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in any discipline
recognized by the Association of Indian Universities
with minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST
candidates); and ( Minimum of 50% aggregate marks
(45% for SC/ST candidates) in any of the Secondary/
Higher Secondary examinations (or equivalent) held
by a Board/ University.
Reservation:
15% and 7.5% of the seats are reserved for candidates
belonging to SC and ST communities respectively, who
satisfy the admission requirement.
Selection:
Admission is made on the basis of Common Admission
Test (CAT) to be held at various centers, Group Discussion
and Interview.

Note:
(i)
The question Paper will contain OBJECTIVE TYPE questions.
(ii) Only those candidates, who secure sufficiently
high marks, will be called for Group Discussion and
Interview.
The test consists of questions in areas such as quantitative,
Reasoning, Verbal Skills, Comprehension of Ideas and
English Language as means of assessing candidate's
ability to Postgraduate studies in Management.
The proficiency in English and Mathematics should
be of about 12th Standard level. What is to be tested
is not so much your memory as your knowledge, ability
and understanding.
Besides the written test, the selection is also based
on the following:
(a) Group Discussion-Group leadership test.
(b) Interview
