 L.I.C - G.I.C COMPETITIONS

1. G.I.C. OFFICERS' EXAM

A combined competitive examination for recruitment to the posts, of Assistant Administrative Officer (Generalist) in the General Insurance Corporation of India, i.e., (i) National Insurance Company Ltd., Calcutta; (ii) The New India Assurance Company Ltd., Mumbai; (iii) The Oriental Fire and General Insurance Company Ltd., New Delhi; and (iv) United India Insurance Company Ltd., Chennai, is held every year generally in the month of February.

Educational Qualifications: 

Graduate/Post-Graduate in Arts, Science, Agriculture, Commerce, Engineering or Law of a recognized University with 50% marks (relaxable in the case of Scheduled Castes/Tribes at 40%).

Age Limit: 

Between 21 and 30 years on the 1st October of the year previous to the year of examination. The limit is relaxable in respect of the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, ex-servicemen and serving confirmed employees of G.I.C.

Selection Procedure: 

Candidates will be called for written test, which would comprise following Objective Tests of 
(1) Test of Reasoning, 
(2) English Language, 
(3) General Awareness, and 
(4) Professional Knowledge.
On the basis of performance in the written examination, candidates will be called for interview and the final selection will be on the basis of overall performance in the written test and the interview.

2.L.I.C. DEVELOPMENT OFFICERS' EXAM


A competitive examination for the recruitment of Assistant Development Officers' in the Life Insurance Corporation is held once a year, generally in the month of September. The blank application forms and particulars are published in the Employment News, generally in the month of July and the last date for submission of applications is generally the first week of August.

Educational Qualifications: 

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Science, Commerce, Agriculture or Law of an Indian or Foreign University or an equivalent qualification.

Age Limits: 


The applicants should have completed the age of 21 years on the 1st July of the year of examination.

Examination Fee: 


Rs. 30/- (Rs. Thirty only). No fee for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, etc.

Initial Pay: 

About Rs. 8000 in the scale of Rs. 4250-2304940-350-5290-230-8510.

Examination Papers: 

The written test will consist of the Test of Reasoning and Numerical Ability; and (i) General English/Hindi and General Knowledge. The test papers will be set bilingual and the candidates will have choice to write answers either in English or in Hindi.

3.L.I.C. OFFICERS' EXAM


A competitive examination for the recruitment of the Assistant Administrative Officers, etc., in Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) is held once a year, generally in the month of June. The blank application form and particulars are published in the Employment News, generally in the second week of April, and the last date for submission of application is usually the second week of May every year.

Educational Qualifications: 

Bachelor's/Master's Degree from a recognized Indian or Foreign University with a minimum of 50% marks (relaxable in the case of SC /ST candidates to 40%) in aggregate in either of the degrees.

Age Limits: 

21 to 28 years on the 1st April of the year of examination. Upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, confirmed L.I.C. Employees, etc.

Examination Fee: 

Rs. 50/- (Rs. Fifty only). No fee for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, etc.

Scheme of the Examination: 


The examination comprises 

· Written Examination in the subjects set out in Para 6 below;
· Interview of such candidates who qualify in the Written Test.

Examination Papers: 


The Written Examination will consist of the following papers:

PAPER I (Objective)

It will consist of

1. Reasoning Ability (Bilingual)
2. General Knowledge and Current Affairs (Bilingual) 
3. Numerical Ability (Bilingual)
4. English Language with special emphasis on grammar and vocabulary.

PAPER II (Descriptive) 


It will consist of
· Test on Essay (can be written in Hindi or English) 
· Precise and Comprehension in English
