PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSIONS
The Constitution of India provides for a Public Service Commission
for each state of the Union to conduct examinations for appointment
to the various services of the state. Two or more states could
share a single Public Service Commission.
The examination held by the various commissions are notified
in the leading local dailies of the state. The date of notification
and date of commencement of examination may vary. So, do watch
out for the notifications/advertisements.
Age limit is specified with each examination but the upper age
limit may be relaxed in case of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled
Tribes and such other categories of persons as may be notified
by the Government of India, from time to time. For government
servants, generally the age is relaxable upto 5 years unless
stated otherwise.
The rules for each examination contain particulars regarding
conditions of eligibility, i.e., age limit, the minimum qualification,
as well as detailed scheme and syllabus of the examination and
where ever possible, brief of services/posts for which recruitment
is made through the examination. Study these rules carefully
before submitting your application.
The rules for each examination provide a list of alternative
qualifications accepted for the purpose of admission to the
examination. However, qualifications are relaxable at the Commission's
discretion.
All correspondence should be addressed to The Secretary, C/o
the office of the respective State Public Service Commission.
