Eligibility Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks ( 40% for SC) or pass in CA/ICWA/CS/AMIE exam; the candidate should have obtained 50% marks in X/XII exam. Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam can also apply.

Application Procedure Application form and information brochure can be obtained in person from the Department on payment of Rs 400 through bank draft drawn in favour of Registrar, university of Jammu or by post with a self-addressed stamped ( Rs 15) envelope of 18 x 25 cms. Completed applications should reach the Department by the notified date.

Selection Entrance test at various Centres in the country on knowledge and comprehension of the English Language, computational ability, verbal and quantitative reasoning. GK and current affairs. Shortlisted candidates are called for group discussion and interview.

Fees and expenses Rs 1,000 per semester payable on admission.

Hostels Limited seats. Lodging/boarding Rs 600 pm.

Methods of Instruction Lectures, discussion, videocassettes, case studies, seminars etc.

Admission/Selection is made through State level entrance test conducted by the Competent Authority for Entrance Examination, J & K Government, Civil Secretariat, Jammu/9-A. Poloview, Srinagar.

Hostels Facilities are not available at present.

Medical Exam in JAMMU & KASHMIR


COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (CET)
is conducted for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in respect of free and payment seats in Government Medical College, Srinagar; Government Medical College, Jammu; Acharya Shri Chandra College of Medical Sciences & Hospital, Jammu; Jehlum Valley College of Medical Sciences, Srinagar; Government Dental College, Srinagar.


COMMON DETAILS are given hereunder:


Admission
is open to candidates who have passed qualifying exam from an institution in J & K. Exception Children of permanent residents, State: Children of Officers belonging to J & K State who are on deputation to Union Government; Children of permanent resident in Defence and paramilitary forces (including BSF/ITBP/CRPF) serving in Siachin Glacier area/anywhere.

Reservations Open Merit 50% SC 8% ST 10% (Gujjar & Bakerwal 6% Leh Distt 2% kargil Distt 2%) Other ST 1% Other Social Castes 2% Residents of Backward areas/near Line of Actual Control 20% Children of Defence personnal (permanent residents of the State) 3% Sports category 2% Children of State Police Personnal and Para Military Forces (Permanent Residents) serving in the J&K State 1% (There will be 50% reservation under all categories for female candidates).

Eligibility Age 17 yrs on December 31 of the year of admission.

Academic Qualification Higher Secondary Part II (Class XII)/10+2 or an equivalent exam with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology securing 50% aggregate marks (40% in case of certain reserved categories). Candidates should be medically fit.

Application Procedure Application form alongwith information brochure and syllabus can be had from the office of the Competent Authority Entrance Examinations, Civil Secretariat, Jammu/94 Poloview, Srinagar and offices of District Development Commissioner, Leh/Kargil against a Treasury Receipt (in original) for Rs. 200 deposited in any State Govt Treasury under Account Head No. "0075-Sect General Services-Other Receipts". Completed applications should reach the office of the Competent Authority Entrance Examinations by the notified date.

Selection Merit in common Entrance Test Conducted in Jammu and Srinagar. The question papers have multiple choice questions in Phy, Chem and Biol of 1 1/2 hours duration each. In case of tie, candidates obtaining higher marks in Biol/Biol & Chem are given preference. List of selected candidates and waiting list of candidates is displayed in colleges/university.
