Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI) is a premier institute of India. It is located in Durgapur. It conducts research activities in Mechanical Engineering. Institute's contribution is development of Swaraj and Sonalika Tractors for Indian farmers. It conducts CSIR-Post-graduate Research Programme in Engineering. It is two-year full-time residential programme in various cutting-edge technological areas, in which Mechatronics is one of them.
