Eligibility Graduates under 10+2+3 system of Engg/Pharm/Agri graduates with 60% aggregate marks.

Application Procedure Application are invited through advertisement in leading newspapers all over the country.

Selection Written test (objective/descriptive type) conducted by All India Management Association, New Delhi at various centres in the country. Shortlisted candidates are called for group discussion and viva-voce at Burdwan.

Engineering Exam in WEST BENGAL

JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (JEE) is conducted by the West Bengal Board of Examination to prepare a Merit List for admission to Engineering/Technology courses at the following Colleges;

ENGINEERING

(iii) Regional Engineering College, Durgapur (including West Bengal quota of other 16 RECs in      India);
(iv)Jalpaiguri Govt. Engineering College, Jalpaiguri;
(v) Kalyani Engineering College, Kalyani,
(vi)Haldia Institute of Technology, Haldia;
(vii)Institute of Engineering and Management, Calcutta.

TECHNOLOGICAL

(viii) College of Textile Technology, Berhampore;
(ix) College of Textile Technology, Serampore;
(x) College of Ceramic Technology, Calcutta; and
(xi) College of Leather Technology, Calcutta.


Admission The Board is in no way responsible for admission to the constituent colleges; and the candidates are required to comply with the requirements of eligibility conditions for admission of different Central Selection Committees for Engineering Colleges/Jadavpur University. The Board provides only the merit list of the entrance examination to the Central Selection Committee/Jadavpur University and the final selection rests with them.

Domicile West Bengal residents. Candidates should have been residing in the State continuously for 10 years or whose parents are permanent residents of West Bengal.

Eligibility Age Maximum 21 yrs (24 yrs for SC/ST candidates). There is no age limit for admission to Jadavpur University. Academic Qualification 12 yrs Hr Sec exam in General/Vocational stream of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent with Eng, Phy, Chem, Maths and Vernacular/5th subject. Candidates should be physically fit, as per prescribed standard. Candidates who have passed qualifying exam from other States are not eligible for admission to Regional Engineering College, Durgapur of other RECs.

Application Procedure Application form and other information can be obtained from the Engineering Colleges/Board on cash payment of Rs. 45 or by post from the office of the Board by sending self-addressed stamped (Rs. 4) envelope of 25 x 13 cm size. Completed applications with requisite fee of Rs. 100 by receipted challan form of United Bank of India or through IPO (for outside candidates) should reach the Office of the Board, Slate Hall, B.E. College Campus, Howrah – 711003 by the notified date.

Selection is made on merit in the JEE conducted in Maths (200 marks) Phy, Chem (100 marks each). The questions are of 12th standard and in English language with Bengali translation.

: 52 centres in West Bengal and 1 centre in Delhi, Candidates who apply for B Arch course are required to appear in the eligibility test in Geometrical & Free Hand Drawing and Aptitude Test conducted by the Board.

Candidates whose name appear in the merit list are also required to apply separately to the Central Selection Committee/Jadavpur University in the Prescribed application form after their notification.

Medical Exam in WEST BENGAL


JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (JEE)
is conducted by the West Bengal Board of Examination for admission to MBBS/BDS in the following colleges: MMBS Burdwan Medical College, Burdwan; Bankura Sammilani Medical College, Bankura; Calcutta national Medical College, Calcutta; Medical College, Calcutta; Nilratan Sircar Medical College, Calcutta; North Bengal Medical College, Darjeeling; R G Kar Medical College, Calcutta. BDS Dr R Ahmed Dental College, Calcutta; North Bengal Dental College, Darjeeling.

Separate Rules regulate admission to BPharm in Department of Pharmacy (Jadavpur University), BSc (Nursing) in College of Nursing, Calcutta.

The Board is not responsible for admission to the constituent colleges and the candidates have to comply with the requirements of eligibility conditions for admission to different colleges. The Board only provides merit list of entrance examination to the Central Selection Committee (Medical), Medical College, Anatomy Building, 88, College Street, Calcutta 700 073 and final selection rests with them. After publication of merit lists, the candidates are required to make separate application to the Central Selection Committee of Medical Colleges with their prescribed fee and within the prescribed date and rules.


Admission is open to Indian citizens and have been residing in the State continuously for 10 years or who or whose parents are permanent residents of the State.


Reservations All entrance 15%, SC 22% ST 6%. Govt of India/State Govt nominees.


Eligibility Age 17 yrs on July 1 of the year of admission. No upper age limit. Academic qualification 12 yrs Hr Sec exam (General/Vocational stream) of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent with Eng, Phy, Chem, Biol and Vernacular/5th subject and must have passed each subject including theory and practical separately. Candidates who have appeared in qualifying exam are also eligible. Candidates should be medically fit.


Candidates passing the BSc exam or its equivalent with two subjects viz Phy, Chem, Biol, Bot, Zool, Physiology, Life Science, Bio-Physics, Bio-Chem are also eligible provided that they have passed the qualifying exam with Phy, Chem, Biol, Eng and Vernacular.


Application Procedure The application for the examination should be made in the prescribed printed form duly completed together with the requisite fee of Rs.150 by receipted challan form of United Bank of India branch of Calcutta/Howrah; they are also required to enclose a self-addressed stamped (Rs.300) envelope of 23*13 cm for despatch of Admit Card. Completed application should reach the notified colleges by prescribed date.


Enrolment After receipt of Application by the Board, an Admit Card is sent to each applicant informing his/her exam Centre for JEE.


Admission
Through Central Selection Committee.

One application form for admission to MBBS course in 7 Medical Colleges and separate application form for admission to BDS course in 2 Dental Colleges is available after publication of Merit List (some time in July) from Central Selection Committee/Medical Colleges on production of receipted original Treasury Challan of Rs.10 for each category of application of as notified.


Selection
Merit in JEE held at 53 places in the State (WB) and at Delhi. The exam comprises Phy, Chem and Biological Sciences of 3 hours duration each of 400 marks. The questions are of qualifying exam (10+2) standard and are set in English language with Bengali translation and may be answered in the language in which the applicant has answered in qualifying exam. Selection for MBBS/BDS course is judged as per merit list in JEE and preference.


Bond Selected candidates are required to execute a bond to serve anywhere in the State for 3 years after passing the MBBS/BDS course.
